ABOUT PERANTIS
The International Conference on Terminology (PERANTIS) 2024 is a conference organized by Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP), Malaysia and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in collaboration with the Malaysian Translators Association (MTA).
DBP as a statutory body responsible for the development of Malay language and its literature has paved the way to uplift the prestige of the Malay language internationally by means of terminology.
The rapid evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI) had caused significant changes in lifestyles including in the domain of languages. The application of AI may assist in the creation of terminology in various languages to fulfil global communication needs.
The PERANTIS is held to facilitate sharing of knowledge, experience and research relating to terminologies among local and international scholars, professionals and practitioners. “Terminology in the Age of Artificial Intelligence and Global Communications’ will be the main theme discussed during the PERANTIS 2024.
- To hold a discussion regarding the current day theories and practices of terminology.
- To facilitate sharing of knowledge and specialties between language scholars.
- To encourage reflection regarding the present and future of terminology.
- To foster collaborations between local and international institutions.
- To compile research relating to terminology.

1. The conference paper must be prepared with the following formatting guidelines:
- A maximum of 10 pages
- Font: Times New Roman. Font size: 12, single spacing. Must be written in either English or Malay.Â
