VISION

To become a professional and superior training centre for language, literature and publishing at the national and international levels
 

MISION

• To co-ordinate professional courses on language, literature and publishing;
• To guide implementation of the teaching of language, literature and publishing in an effort to develop the language, literature and publications;
• To establish a collaborative network with language, literature and publishing agencies within and outside the country

  OBJECTIVES

• To develop and enhance skills, expertise and professionalism in Malay language and literature;
• To develop and enhance skills, expertise and professionalism in the field of publishing in an effort to enrich the Malay repository with high quality and world-class works;
   
• To develop and enhance the skills of writing, authorship and professionalism to produce great works as well as promote the works of writers in various fields, particularly linguistics and literature in the Malay language;
   
• To establish a review programme for improving and streamlining the mastery and knowledge of participants in accordance with the latest developments in linguistics, literature and publishing; and
   
• To establish co-operation between language, literature and publishing experts from local and foreign institutions of higher learning, and among the members of MABBIM and MASTERA through training activities such as conferences, seminars, forums, exchange of experts, work visits and exchange students.
•  Mewujudkan kerjasama antara pakar-pakar bahasa, sastera dan penerbitan di IPT tempatan dan luar negara, dan dalam kalangan negara anggota MABBIM dan MASTERA melalui aktiviti-aktiviti latihan seperti persidangan, seminar, forum, pertukaran pakar, lawatan sambil bekerja, dan pertukaran pelajar.

   

  
  FUNCTIONS

• To become a training centre for writers within and outside DBP and DBP who are active in the fields of language, literature and publishing;

• To produce more writers who are trained professionally in the fields of language, literature and publishing;
• To help accelerate efforts to meet the needs of DBP in increasing usage and mastery of the Malay language in all areas among Malaysians and language speakers within or outside the country;
• To conduct more courses on a regular basis for writers in the publishing industry, public officials, particularly in the education sector, language and literature lovers as well as DBP staff.
  
  COMMITMENT
• We shall provide courses and training within a flexible learning period in a conducive environment for all sectors and levels. The courses will be offered to meet the needs and according to the requirements of customers.
